And "We do it with love," as Eyal Shahar, CEO and Founder of OTA so fondly reminds us, hence the title - Whole LOTA Love.
You might have already heard a bit of Eyal’s story. Thirty-three years ago, in March of 1984, Eyal lost all of the money that he had in the stock market. He landed in Los Angeles from Israel with $300 in his pocket. He survived on 99-cent hot dogs from 7-Eleven. Today, Eyal is the CEO of a thriving financial education company that is helping to change lives.
People often ask him, “How did you create such growth?”
“Through innovation, of course, but the real answer is because our culture at OTA is built on love – yes, love,” says Eyal.
In today’s business climate, this idea – love as a core value – is sometimes hard to visualize in action, but we have learned over the years that it is what makes the difference between success and failure. What is the ROI on love? It's hard to tell. But we like what Tony Hsieh, CEO of Zappos Insights has to say, “Just because you can’t measure the ROI of something doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it. What’s the ROI on hugging your mom?”
