“John Rowland is quite patient with students that do not grasp the concept as quickly as others. Platform Immersion instruction portion was excellent.”
Richard Kading, June 2016
“I thought that John Rowland delivered the material and his explanations in an easy to understand language. I am very impressed with John's experience, knowledge and his ability to present the material in ways that I found easy to understand. I enjoyed his patient style and down to earth attitude. I feel grateful that I was able to hang out with him for a week and I look forward to opportunities to reinforce my learning experience with John in the future.”
Patrick Werrell, February 2016
“Instructor's knowledge of the material and presentation skills are very good and easy to follow with just the right pace. Even though it was a retake with him I still learned a lot of new stuff or got a new vision of what I have learned so far.”
Olga Mason, February 2016
“The personal insights from the instructors based on their vast experience are priceless. John is extremely knowledgeable and very effective at breaking down advanced strategies.”
Carlos Navarro, January 2016
“John was the best instructor I have had so far. He was able to join together core strategy with real life trading situations.”
Steve Rusko, December 2015
“John Rowland is a great instructor. He is good at breaking down people's perceptions about the futures markets and introducing the commodity and energy markets to students who may only be familiar with the mainstream stock index futures. His approach for finding high quality, tradeable zones is both conservative and holds high probabilities for working out. He has a down-to-earth, approachable style and really connects with students.”

“John Rowland is another example of the superb depth of talent at OTA. He is a natural and skilled teacher. Not only was he able to present the course material in an interesting and understandable way, he made sure that everyone was included in the discussions and no one was left behind. Questions were encouraged and answered to everyone's satisfaction. He very effectively used both humor and “tough love” to keep us all engaged and on-track. Because he was obviously having fun, so did we. John was especially generous with sharing his experience and knowledge of the institutional side of trading. While the “war stories” were always fun and often broke up the didactic tedium of the material, they were always paced and only used by way of example or explanation for the topic at hand. OTA traders want to trade along with the institutions. Having the opportunity to have someone “from the other side” teach us from an institutional view (and to confirm the fundamental logic of supply/demand and the “physics of price”) was priceless. As just a single example of the quality of the week's experience: early in the week John promised to stay late one afternoon and answer any and all questions, however long it took. It was a promise fulfilled and deeply appreciated.”
