Michael Young

Michael Young began his trading career 37 years ago on the floor of the Chicago Board of Options Exchange as an independent floor trader, both making markets and becoming an expert in hedging risk. As the “edge” on the floor started to disappear in the late 1990’s Michael left to continue his career from home via screen based trading. Realizing that he needed direction in this new endeavor he chose Online Trading Academy for his education to bridge the gap from the floor to the screen. Michael completed his Pro Trader class in 2006 and since has continued to trade in the equities, futures and options markets.

While on the floor, Michael hired and taught over 50 traders how to be market makers and trade options. He brings his passion for trading and teaching to his Online Trading Academy classes. As an Instructor, Michael makes learning how to “think” like a professional a constant theme, as well as fully understanding the concept of “edge”. “On the floor the odds were definitely on our side as we could buy on the bid and sell on the offer and really see the order flow. The Online Trading Academy edge is knowing where the buyers and sellers are likely to be, using our core strategy of trend analysis and supply and demand,” says Michael.
