Karey Starr leads the team that keeps the Online Trading Academy web properties running smoothly.
His wide experience in software application development, database design and development, and statistical applications has provided a valuable foundation for continually delivering a world class web experience for the company.
Most recently he and his team released the MyOTA student portal and the public website integration, which facilitates student enrollment, instructor scheduling and education content delivery and allows students to concentrate on their trading education without technology roadblocks.
He loves the way OTA pushes the boundaries of innovation to continually improve the website in response to the needs of students and make those enhancements available as fast as possible.
Mr. Starr graduated from Sonoma State University in 1998 with a degree in Finance.
He began his professional career in the highly quantitative insurance industry, developing internal applications, corporate websites and enterprise level systems.
In 2003 he co-founded Alchemy Design Group to be able to help more companies bring their internal business processes online.
His first assignment with OTA was a scheduling application for real-time access to course and seminar calendars.
Furthering his relationship with OTA, he was also a lead developer on a major website restructure and migration to .NET in 2008.
At the end of 2011 he joined the staff as Senior Software Architect.
Thanks to the virtual community facilitated by Online Trading Academy, Mr. Starr works remotely in the Northern California area, where he lives with his wife and daughter.
