Monday Market Must-Knows: June 27, 2022

What are the indicators of an upcoming recession? Merlin discusses in this week’s MMMKs. For the week ahead, be on the lookout for these events:

-Final GDP – Wednesday 8:30am ET – It’s not great if we see 2 consecutive negative quarters. This may spread some fear in the financial markets but could present some opportunities for active traders who understand Supply & Demand and trends.

-Core PCE Price Index – Thursday 8:30am ET – We have seen elevated levels over the last few quarters. Any changes on the levels could create more waves.

-US debt to GDP ratio – Debt in the US continues to increase (at the Federal and consumer credit levels)

175 companies reporting earnings: Nike, General Mills, McKesson Corp., Paycheck, Micron Technology and Walgreens Boots Alliance.

Lots to watch for this week... and to be careful too. As always, be sure you have a trade plan and follow your risk management rules!
