Sean Kim
Kyong (Sean) Kim
Equities and Personal Trading Plan Instructor

Sean has over ten years of trading experience in active markets along with prior experience as a stock broker. In 1998 he started his trading career after graduating from Online Trading Academy. As an active trader, he traded on one of the largest trading floors in the country. While on the floor he helped to train hundreds of other traders, domestically and internationally. In 2001, opportunities came up for Sean to become a market maker for Scottrade headquarters located in St. Louis, at which time he held Series 55, 7, and 63 licenses. With 8 years of professional trading experience at Scottrade, Sean had hands-on experience with institutional techniques and technologies. At the same time, he was exposed to various trading methods such as scalping, momentum trading, swing trading, and position trading. Being one of Scottrade’s most consistent traders, Sean kept an excellent trading record – he had a streak of 20 consecutive positive quarters. He was invited to speak at universities, investment groups, and to MBA and finance students. Sean has a unique way of making complex subjects easy to understand, making him a welcome return to our instructor pool.
